4/6/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved (AM) Upon arrival, client walked into the boys and girls club in a positive and safe mood, as evidenced by his smile and careful demeanor when walking through the crowd of campers in the game room. Client was reported to be sitting and keeping his hands to himself while riding the van. Client expressed excitement heading into morning group. Client was cheerful and respectful toward mental health professional, giving his undivided attention to the lesson. Client engaged in a group discussion regarding “Something Special About Me”. Client displayed good listening skills and gave good eye contact to each person speaking. Client contributed to the group discussion by stating his name, a fun fact about himself, and his favorite color. Client exhibited good social skills but had to be reminded of his expectations, to sit in his seat correctly, and to utilize the appropriate voice volume. Client was seen verbalizing positive affirmations and responding well to feedback. Client is observed going to the next activity without incident or altercation and these behaviors were monitored and supported in the new setting. (PM) Client was observed in the gym playing basketball, tag team, and catch with a few of the peers in his age group, as well as other age groups. Client appeared to be enjoying himself around his peers and socializing with different campers from different sites. Client stated his favorite thing to do is play games and hang out with his friends. Client talked a lot about the pool and learning how to swim. Client said he enjoyed playing ping pong and football in the arcade area. Client expressed positive feelings about lunch and snack time. Client communicated he was less interested in reading and writing but was willing to engage in the activities to win a treat at the end of the week. Client was seen inside of the Stem room drawing and coloring and building arts and crafts. Client was observed following directions and listening to the instructor who had all good reports regarding his behaviors and attitude. (EOD) Client prepared for group and was witnessed walking quietly in line and transitioning smoothly and safely into the classroom. Client participated in several group exercises and displayed appropriate interaction with his peers. Client seems to be having a good time in camp and getting to know others. Client was supported with building rapport with the new counselors and healthy relationships with his peers. Client presents little frustration and anger, and the benefits of this was reviewed. Client have been doing a much better job processing his feelings and emotions and it have been a successful camper so far this week, meeting his objectives and following camp rules.
